We spent a week up in the Catskills again this year at my family’s house. Although book buying wasn’t a big part of our week, we did visit some new places. My favorite trip was to the town of Catskill, which sits on the Hudson River and is featuring a summer-long art exhibit throughout their Main Street; the exhibit is called “Cat n’ Around Catskill” (it’s going on through September), and is an animal-themed art show, much like the Cow Parade of Manhattan (among others).
I took pictures of some of my favorite cats…
Rowan just loved them (of course), and while the cats will be up for auction at the end of September, perhaps we’ll wait to see if they make miniature reproductions before deciding to bring one into our home.
We also took Rowan for his first trip to a county fair – the Schoharie County Sunshine Fair no less – along with his first trip to the emergency room for a topical reaction to his antibiotics (for the Lyme disease). Oh wait, scratch that; he dislocated his elbow last year and was at the ER then. Poor kid.
I’m already counting the days until our next Catskill trip…
