It is, it is!!! And as it’s our favorite holiday at Withywindle Books (and not just becuase my son was born on Halloween, although that’s such a great excuse for a party) we will be featuring some of our favorite spooky books on our home page (rotating every week or so) until this happy holiday arrives!! We’re starting out with Dark Harvest by Norman Partridge, which was just recently nominated for a 2007 World Fantasy Award, and Shivers II edited by Richard Chizmar (now out-of-print from Cemetery Dance).

In other news... sci-fi/fantasy author Madeleine L’Engle passed away yesterday at her home in Connecticut from natural causes. Although she wrote far more than just sci-fi and fantasy, some of her most well-known works were the trilogy of “A Wrinkle In Time”, “A Wind In the Door” and “A Swiftly Tilting Planet”. As a young reader of her books, I know that her literary contributions will be missed.
