I’m constantly (well, frequently) working on improving my packing methods for books, without spending more than necessary (so as to keep shipping charges reasonable…) and reusing materials when possible. There’s a great post from a while back on the Bibliophile Bullpen blog about rules of thumb for packaging books. It’s worth a read if you ever send anything via the USPS. I’ve referred back to it several times as I tweak my packing methods and materials, and they occasionally have further updates and rants after receiving poorly packed books (or anything else). I use these as a reminder/check about my own methods.
