This weekend has seen the unveiling of our new store on Etsy! We’re selling Obo’s nature photography there, along with occasional miscellaneous items. You’ll notice that our prices on Etsy are slightly higher than at our own online shop, Withywindle Books. That’s due to listing fees and commissions charged by Etsy. But I recognize that there are many devoted Etsy shoppers and sellers who might not find our products through our store or blog, and hope that we might find a new audience through this venture.
Do you sell on Etsy? If so, what advice would you give a new seller just getting started? I’m asking because it seems that much of the advice I come across is aimed at sellers who don’t already have their own store. Since we do, I’d love any advice from experienced sellers on how to use the Etsy site more effectively.
It’s a good idea to try to reach as many people as possible…My step-daughter sells jewelry on Etsy, but has had more luck going to local craft shows, but you need to get yourself out there and it’s one way…
Agreed. I’m thinking of taking some of Obo’s photography to conferences when I present and/or have a display. I’ll be curious if they garner any interest at those…
