My New Home Office

After 2 months of working from home nearly full-time, my office is re-made and (mostly) unpacked!

It’s not much to look at, but it’s a vast improvement over what I was working with (and in) before. We moved my desk to rest against the other wall of the corner it was in, and centered my shipping table (in between the desk and bookshelf) under the window. Resources got re-organized, and we finally made room enough for me to unpack my books and resources from my outside office.  And yes, that is a stuffed coyote sitting on top of the bookshelf.  Her name is Carla.

Opposite the desk and table are two full-sized bookshelves, and facing the small bookshelf that sits next to the shipping table are two more bookshelves.  These shelves are home to most of the books in the Withywindle Books inventory. The rest are on a large shelf in the hall.

The space feels far more inviting, and it’s amazing how much more ‘at home’ I feel in the new office configuration. I didn’t realize what I was missing until I had a comfortable, working office again.

Do you work from home? What’s your home work-space like, and was it difficult to make it a separate space from the rest of the house?  My kids are still a regular component of my office, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I can’t wait until I get the rocking chair in place…

  1. I think the real question is where are you keeping the scat collection? Glad you’ve found a figuration that works for you. That’s the key. I work better when I’m in a comfortable environment. I have a separate office in my house, but I still get traffic. I get my work done when everyone’s at camp, school or daycare!

    1. Ah yes, the scat collection. It is currenly taking up the top of one of one bookshelf… one of the few things that didn’t get moved around. Perhaps for obvious reasons. 🙂 I definitely need to be in an environment that makes me feel at home, or I won’t be nearly as productive.
