Windows on Wildlife: Better Together

Welcome to the 7th edition of Windows on Wildlife! If you have a recent post about wildlife you’d like to share – it can be anything: birds, insects, mammals – scroll down to the end of the post and add your site; a compilation of all additions will be posted the following week. Please don’t forget to link back here (I’d love it if you’d add the Windows on Wildlife button on the sidebar to your post) and visit other blogs that have articles to share. Thanks for stopping by!

Here’s an interesting shot from one of the two wildlife cams my folks have at the Catskill cabin – a white-tailed deer and a raccoon together (sort of). Clearly, the raccoon is doing its own thing. This photo makes the yard look like a regular wildlife highway, what with the regular pictures of bears, foxes, deer and turkeys. I love seeing what goes on in the natural world when we’re asleep – makes me wonder what’s going on in our yard here at home…

Jenny of Just Photos by Me (also of Cheetahs in My Shoes, which I just love saying; I think that’s one of the best blog titles) posted a great pic of magpies, and mentioned some folks being superstitious about them. I love corvids, ravens in particular, and find it interesting that so many of them have a negative connotation.
