Windows on Wildlife: Silhouetted Hawk

Welcome to the 11th edition of Windows on Wildlife, and SO sorry for the delay in getting this edition posted!!  If you have a recent post about wildlife you’d like to share – it can be anything: birds, insects, mammals – scroll down to the end of the post and add your site; a compilation of all additions will be posted the following week. Please don’t forget to link back here (I’d love it if you’d add the Windows on Wildlife button on the sidebar to your post) and visit other blogs that have articles to share. Thanks for stopping by!

This Red-Tailed Hawk is a resident at Carlson’s Orchards, home of the annual Peach Festival, where the band I’m in – the Contra Banditos – plays each year.  It flew down during the second half of our set and my husband got a quick shot at it.

It doesn’t seem to matter where I am, or what I’m doing. If there’s a chance to bird watch, I’ll take it (teaching, driving, playing music, etc.).  Apparently this habit has rubbed off on my husband as well!

Last week, Jenny at Just Photos By Me shared beautiful photos of a new litter of Cheetahs born at the Whipsnade Zoo. Mamma looks awfully proud of her babies!

Apologies again for the late post, but do join us and share your wildlife posts in the link-in below!

    1. Aren’t they? Especially when they’re getting harassed by little birds – that’s always entertaining. 🙂

    1. Me too – even if it’s one that I see often, like Red-Tails or Sharp-Shinned. There’s something special about spotting them.
