As I changed education careers a few years ago from natural history and environmental education, to UU and Pagan education, so too did the nature of my blogging change. I started up a new blog last year, the Inkwood Journal, to be my new home for my spiritual and educational writing.
Which left me wondering what to do with Withywindle. I had already scaled the site way back to include just two sets of pages – eastern coyote/coywolf information and outdoor programming – and the blog. But I wasn’t sure how active I wanted to be on Withywindle at that point.
A year later has found me with renewed energy for the Withywindle Nature Blog, even though the majority of my writing will still remain at Inkwood. I may no longer earn a paycheck as a naturalist, but being a naturalist for me was always more than making a living. It was, and is, a way of being. A way of seeing the world. And I am confident that that part of me isn’t going anywhere. And certainly the importance of the natural world will remain central in my spiritual and practical life. So it makes sense to have this blog not only still active, but also to fit with where I am in my life now. This is my blog (well, one of my blogs), and it should, to some extent, reflect it’s author.
It took a bit of time to give myself permission to visually re-create the Withywindle Nature Blog, but once I did I was delighted with where it went, and I’m excited to share it’s new look and my new writing with you all! I will indeed be publishing here periodically, so stay in touch, and let me know what you think of the new look!
Bright Blessings.
Nice to see you Cynthia!!! My Nature Notes meme is now at ….ramblingwoods2.com… I will check out your other blog too as I have considered a similar path of late…Michelle
Michelle!!! It’s so great to hear from you! I will head over to your new url and check it out!
Hi Cynthia, I found your blog when searching out info on identifying coyote tracks. I saw these tracks through the back yard and wasn’t sure if it was a coyote or the neighbor’s dog, which occasionally would wander by.
From your blog I believe the tracks to be coyote. There is even scat left along the tracks. I can send pics of both if you are interested. Thanks for your love of nature and sharing your knowledge.
Hello Clark, thanks for getting in touch! I’d be happy to check out your canine tracks – if email is easiest, you can send them to cynthia.menard013@gmail.com.
